This was the second time fishing for sturgeon with Ricky, and as usual we all had a blast. Lots of fish, stories and all around great time for all!

Best time ever!

Went out all afternoon. Beautiful views, entertaining host with great story telling and knowledge.

Rick's excitement for catching fish is contagious. We were beginners and he taught us proper method and control, making us feel at ease for our catches.

We ended up catching handfuls of sturgeon, a couple really big guys too!

Highly recommend. Super fun experience.

Got 31 fish to the boat! Had 4 fish on twice and 4 triple -headers. Rick orchestrated the kaos. A real exciting day of fishing . Rick is a high energy total professional and a very entertaining guy. Never stopped trying to get us into fish. Even shared some fresh bait and advice with a couple watching with envy as we caught fish after fish. Great day!

Caught 17 sturgeon with Rick last week. 10 over 7.5 feet. And lost probably a 10 footer, it was like a whale coming out of the water my eyes were popping out of my head. Was a great time!!!

Tracey- My husband and son spend all day August 24th on a sturgeon fishing charter with Rick and had an amazing time. It was the first time for both of them and Rick's extensive knowledge of the Fraser river ensured they both had success. My 17 year old who initially had been going mainly for his Dad's benefit had such a great time he decided it was the best part of our vacation. thank you for a great day of fishing. started out loosing the "big one" right out of the gate. Rick came as advertised, uncanny how he knew the holes to fish Sturgeon. we landed around 24, anywhere from 7'6" to 4' and lost another 10, several double hitters.
In approx 6 hours we fishes our hearts out, 2 sore backs 1 frozen shoulder, 4 guts hurting from laughing. Rick does a fantastic job guiding, entertaining you with stories and you are in the right boat if you like friendly banter.

I had such an exhilarating experience with Funky. We had two lines, each with a fish on and I was just so excited to be fighting it into the boat. We spent a glorious day on the river, had lots of bites and landed an 8'4 inch beauty. Excellent guiding, both knowledgeable and good company. We had a sturgeon on the line within the first 15 minutes after anchoring and kept catching more throughout the day. Didn't realize sturgeon are such jumpers. Pretty amazing experience and definitely recommended.

A+++ You gotta do this. This was my first time fishing since I was a kid. I never liked fishing but after going out with Rick I'm hooked. My sister, husband and I took my Dad for his Birthday we had an awesome day we hooked 10 and reeled in 8 Sturgeon (4-8 feet in length). What cool fish! My Dad commented how he had never caught that many fish in his life than we did that day. Rick was knowledgeable and funny we learnt a lot. Thank you again Rick can't wait to go again.

I took my two son in laws and grandson on a very memorable srugeon fishing adventure. We landed 9 of the 11 that we hooked. My 12 year old grandson getting the largest at just shy of 8 ft long. A good 45 minutes of reeling which exhausted him but he never gave up on that bad boy. All the sturgeon that we landed were over 6 ft long. One that managed to escape almost spooled the reel of 500 yrds. We had to pull up anchor and chase more than one of them. As true fishermen the ones that got away were monsters probably over 15 ft long LOL. Looking forward to next trip. Rick is the best guide on the river in our opinion based on other charters that we have taken. Rick knows the river, knows where they hide, and is very efficient at hooking them. Well worth every penny.

Went fishing with Rick for the 2nd time , and took my wife and 2 kids.
first time got 8 fish 1was 8ft and 1was 8.5.
this time 16 !!! fish . smallest was about 3.5ft biggest was 8
lots of fun , Rick knows his stuff and works hard to get us fish.

My mother and stepfather had the best fishing experience of their lives in 2 days with Funky's Fishing Adventures. They are fishermen accustomed to the most diverse fishing, they have been in places like Argentina, Pantanal, Amazon and this fishing with Funky was by far the most incredible of all. According to their words, "now no other fishery will have grace". They are already programming again for next year and will bring friends from Brazil, who were impressed with the photos and videos of this fishery and want to check with their own eyes. We were supposed to fish out of Bamfield on our own boat but mechanical issues put an end to that trip before we could even launch the boat.Called Rick and with no notice he rearranged his schedule and took us out for sturgeon the next day.Had fish biting from the first drop of the anchor.Was the first sturgeon fishing my brother and I had done,Rick had us into fish from the start till the end.My arm is still sore two days later.We will be going again and will definitely book with Rick.Thanks Rick for the great day on the river.

So I was going through my phone when I came across the photos of our fishing Charter with Rick. Who I would have to say is a real character
and awesome fishing guide as we hooked into 15 sturgeon or more it was defiantly hard to keep track. We didn't land a monster but we fought one for close to 40 minutes until it was stronger than myself and the gear and the line snapped. I was no big deal as the fight was worth the trip itself as two of us had to fight the monster until he over powered the gear. Rick was prepared and geared up that rod in what seemed like seconds with fresh bait and then we were fishing again at that time we had a double header for the second time that day. It seemed that rick was is a fish whisperer and the fish couldn't resist the bite on his gear. What felt so good is that we were in a crowd of 3 other boats within a 100 meters of each other and ricks gear was the only one bent over and us yelling "FISH ON". I think Ricks enthusiasm and dedication to this sport and his care and concern for the conservation of these majestic fish is amazing and likely why he is so successful. I've been lucky enough to have been on charters with others but never have I and my Party been so successful and engaged by Rick who ensured us a FANTASTIC TIME and kept us entertained with his enthusiasm and desire to ensure us fish on moments in way more abundance than I have ever expected. Thank you Rick and FUNKY FISHING FAMILY.

The fishing trip with rick was unreal actually one of the best guided fishing trips Ive ever been on he is an outstanding guy and super knowledgeable if you want to go on a sturgeon trip with your family or even some of the guys, this is the man to go with.

By far the best fishing experience and service I have ever had. I have travelled all over the world hiring fishing charters including Hawaii, Mexico and Nicaragua, and undoubtedly Funkys Fishing Adventures is the best provided a 5 STAR experience. We caught 11 sturgeon including a massive 10 footer that took us almost an hour to land. Ricky Funky, the owner takes great pride in providing a top notch experience. His boat is clean and orderly. The bait we used was prepared days earlier which made for an attractive (and stank) treat for the fish and most likely why we caught so many. Rick is quick on his feet and has a special map for finding just the right spot. Customer service and a great experience is what Rick does best! Well done! Highly recommended.

Thats one thing off the bucket list. I had always wanted to go sturgeon fishing but never got around to it. Had a fantastic day with Rick. We caught lots of sturgeon. It was something that the three of us will never forget. Rick is a super guy who makes sure that you will never forget the experience of sturgeon fishing .

I was part of a group of 12 that went with Rick (and 3 of his associates) yesterday on the Fraser River. It was a blast! I believe every one of our group caught something, and plenty of us caught several. Rick was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was entertaining, and was genuinely excited each time a fish was on the line! We never sat in one place too long, and Rick "pulled all the tricks out of the bag" to ensure that we caught fish. He's not one to 'wait around and see what happens'. Instead, he spent the entire day trying to 'outfox the sturgeons', and it worked! Highly recommended.

A group of 4 of us went out with Rick on Easter weekend. Our expectations were blown out of the water!!! Rick's previous record for one day was 25... and we smashed it the first day with a whopping 40!!! And to keep that going, we caught another 20 the next day. There was numerous 6-7+ footers, with the biggest making 8'7". We can't wait to get back out with Rick again.

Took my 76 year old parents and a friend from Toronto out with Rick yesterday. One of the best fishing guide experiences I've ever had, and I used to guide up at Haida Gwaii. He worked hard to put us on fish, but more importantly, he was very accommodating and was just a cool dude to fish with, and that's not always the case when it comes to fishing guides... Definitely worth your business. I mean, how many other sturgeon guiding operators have you seen with 100% 5-star reviews?

What a fantastic afternoon I had this past August fishing for sturgeon on the Fraser River.

Our fishing guide was Rick. He went above and beyond from start to finish. We caught 13 sturgeon, including a few monsters during a relatively short period of time. Based on my experience, Id strongly recommend Funkys fishing adventures. If possible, Id suggest requesting Rick as your guide.

by far the best guide I've fished with. excellent fishing knowledge and great entertainment. He will stop at nothing to get into fish. one of the few guides out there that still gets wired up everytime a rod gets a bite.
I think the only negative remark I would make about fishing with rick, is how sore my body is.. we caught 27 fish today and he wouldnt stop handing us rods.

I have fished with Rick for over 10 years even before he started guiding he would always out fish me every time we went out .he truly loves to fish and spends many days making sure he knows the local conditions and places the fish are before running trips .good equipment and the boat also has a heater if youare fall fishing and get cold easy like I do .the sturgeon sling is a great invention he made so when you catch a fish you don't have to go to shore to land it works great it allows you to measure and take pictures of the fish release it and back to fishing. Had a 1 day charter with Captain Troy Richardson. The equipment and boat were absolutely amazing along with Troys expertise we caught lots of big fish!! When the bite slowed down Troy continued to get us back on the hot spots and we were catching all day!!

Troy is a very experienced guide, he showed us his tricks/tips and he was very informative. My sister and I had an outstanding day and I would 100% suggest this sturgeon fishing charter and all the other charters they provide!!

Wanted to pass on a huge "Thank You" to Rick for setting us up with Erik Craig on Saturday October 3. I had a relative visiting from out of town who is an avid fisherman but never fished for sturgeon. I called Rick on short notice to see if he could take us out on Saturday. He was not able to but did not rest until he made other arrangements for us. Erik Craig was great! We had 21 fish on the line - a few got away but we brought several to the boat. Just home from a day of sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River with Rick. My first time but definitely not my last! Had a great time with two of my sons Evan and Quinton. Rick was a great host and guide - very knowledgeable and also very helpful while letting us reel them in. I think he had as much fun as we did - his "Whooo-Hooo" every time we had a hit was contagious. We caught 14 fish today - 4 over 8 feet and one 9.5 feet!. Learned a lot about fishing and had a great work out too. I recommend Rick and Funky's Fishing Adventures to any novice or repeat enthusiast!

Had the pleasure of fishing for sturgeon with Rick and my son-in-law in mid-October. He did not disappoint. I lost count of the number of sturgeon we caught. My arms were burning to the point that I actually declined to reel in the last couple. Rick is tireless, constantly working, changing bait, trying different things. I have been out with a few sturgeon guides on the fraser river and our experience with funkys was by far the best! He put in 110% into his charters.
Even when the bites were finicky and few in between, he moved us from hole to hole until he found some willing fish!

Caught 14 fish with this guy on one trip we lost 4 and 4 were under 5 feet but it every other fish we got fought hard and our arms were definitely sore by the end of the day. The tour guide rick is also a very cool guy and has lots of good sturgeon fishing stories and insights, definitely came off the boat knowing a lot more than I entered the boat with.

Rick's previous record for one day was 25... and we smashed it the first day with a whopping 40!!! And to keep that going, we caught another 20 the next day. There was numerous 6-7+ footers, with the biggest making 8'7". We can't wait to get back out with Rick again.

I was part of a group of 12 that went with Rick (and 3 of his associates) yesterday on the Fraser River. It was a blast! I believe every one of our group caught something, and plenty of us caught several. Rick was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was entertaining, and was genuinely excited each time a fish was on the line! We never sat in one place too long, and Rick "pulled all the tricks out of the bag" to ensure that we caught fish. He's not one to 'wait around and see what happens'. Instead, he spent the entire day trying to 'outfox the sturgeons', and it worked! Highly recommended.

That’s one thing off the bucket list. I had always wanted to go sturgeon fishing but never got around to it. Had a fantastic day with Rick. We caught lots of sturgeon. It was something that the three of us will never forget. Rick is a super guy who makes sure that you will never forget the experience of sturgeon fishing .

My buddy Dave was out with Funky yesterday and asked if I wanted to join him. I was stoked to go and met them at the dock at noon. From 12:30 on we hooked and landed 16 fish, one just shy of 8 ft. What a great day. Such a blast. Thanks Rick Funk for a great day.

We caught 11 sturgeon including a massive 10 foot’er that took us almost an hour to land. Ricky Funky, the owner takes great pride in providing a top notch experience. His boat is clean and orderly. The bait we used was prepared days earlier which made for an attractive (and stank) treat for the fish and most likely why we caught so many. Rick is quick on his feet and has a special map for finding just the right spot. Customer service and a great experience is what Rick does best! Well done! Highly recommended.

What a fantastic day!!! We were met by Rick at the dock, (right on time!), headed out on the river and set up. First sturgeon on and to the boat in 15 minutes! Then the action picked up!! 17 more sturgeon in 6 hours including an 8 footer.. Unbelievable. Rick's knowledge of the river and his fishing skills for these wonderful fish are second to none! Had a great time fishing with Rick a couple weeks ago and caught some big sturgeons over 8ft long! It was an amazing first time experience. Rick is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Had so much fun! ??

My son Zachary and I went out with Rick and it was an amazing day. The morning was slow but in the afternoon we caught 8. They were mostly in 4 to 6 foot range, so were are definitely going back next year to get the BIG ONE!! Can't wait

So I was going through my phone when I came across the photos of our fishing Charter with Rick. Who I would have to say is a real character
and awesome fishing guide as we hooked into 15 sturgeon or more it was defiantly hard to keep track. We didn't land a monster but we fought one for close to 40 minutes until it was stronger than myself and the gear and the line snapped. I was no big deal as the fight was worth the trip itself as two of us had to fight the monster until he over powered the gear. Rick was prepared and geared up that rod in what seemed like seconds with fresh bait and then we were fishing again at that time we had a double header for the second time that day. It seemed that rick was is a fish whisperer and the fish couldn't resist the bite on his gear. What felt so good is that we were in a crowd of 3 other boats within a 100 meters of each other and ricks gear was the only one bent over and us yelling "FISH ON". I think Ricks enthusiasm and dedication to this sport and his care and concern for the conservation of these majestic fish is amazing and likely why he is so successful. I've been lucky enough to have been on charters with others but never have I and my Party been so successful and engaged by Rick who ensured us a FANTASTIC TIME and kept us entertained with his enthusiasm and desire to ensure us fish on moments in way more abundance than I have ever expected. Thank you Rick and FUNKY FISHING FAMILY.

We were supposed to fish out of Bamfield on our own boat but mechanical issues put an end to that trip before we could even launch the boat.Called Rick and with no notice he rearranged his schedule and took us out for sturgeon the next day.Had fish biting from the first drop of the anchor.Was the first sturgeon fishing my brother and I had done,Rick had us into fish from the start till the end.My arm is still sore two days later.We will be going again and will definitely book with Rick.Thanks Rick for the great day on the river.

We had an amazing time. Came from Toronto. All 3 of us caught a sturgeon. Rick is very knowledgeable and a great guide. Always on top of things and very determined to get you hooked on a fish. Highly recommended. Great experience.

It was by far the best fishing trip I've ever had!! We can't wait tell go again, Rick put us on 13 good size fish including an 8 foot 8 dinosaur. We spent a glorious day on the river, had lots of bites and landed an 8'4 inch beauty. Excellent guiding, both knowledgeable and good company. Our guide was definitely dedicated to helping us catch a big one. Pulling in a fish like that was something I will never forget. Can't wait to get back out on the river.

A+++ You gotta do this. This was my first time fishing since I was a kid. I never liked fishing but after going out with Rick I'm hooked. My sister, husband and I took my Dad for his Birthday we had an awesome day we hooked 10 and reeled in 8 Sturgeon (4-8 feet in length). What cool fish! My Dad commented how he had never caught that many fish in his life than we did that day. Rick was knowledgeable and funny we learnt a lot. Thank you again Rick can't wait to go again.

Awesome day out searching for dinosaurs. Had all the gear lined up and ready to go on time. Perfect pickup and drop off points to choose from and great knowledge of the river. We had a fabulous day and landed 5 sturgeon and definetely had to wrestle them. Would totally go recommend and go back again. :-)

Went out with rick in the off season and he still caught us fish! This guy is a pro and know the rivers like the back of his hand. Would highly recommend to everyone.

My mother and stepfather had the best fishing experience of their lives in 2 days with Funky's Fishing Adventures. They are fishermen accustomed to the most diverse fishing, they have been in places like Argentina, Pantanal, Amazon and this fishing with Funky was by far the most incredible of all. According to their words, "now no other fishery will have grace". They are already programming again for next year and will bring friends from Brazil, who were impressed with the photos and videos of this fishery and want to check with their own eyes. Rick's attention was perfect, flawless.

Took my sons and I out for our second trip just the other weekend. Outstanding time was had by all. 14 white sturgeon landed, between 3 and 8 feet!!!!!

We had an amazing first Sturgeon Fishing Adventure. Being told it was way early we stood our ground with heads held high knowing that the day couldn't be as we hoped, but with the help of FUNKY'S FISHING ADVENTURES Owner Rick and Guide Frank made sure we had one of the Greatest trips to start the year off. We came out on top with a total of 8 Sturgeon Ranging from 4ft to the fish of the day measuring out at 6.5ft.
I highly recommend FUNKY'S FISHING ADVENTURES to any experienced angler or someone who has never experienced any such thrill ride as this, if you haven't done this yet you gotta try at leased once, you'll be hooked and these guy will make sure you do.

Thank you Rick we had an amazing time today. Rick is funny and so good at what he does. I would recommend everyone to do this. We went for my Dads Birthday he said we caught more fish in one day than he did in his life time.

Rick is an amazing guide. We had a fish hooked up in less then 10 minutes of being on the water, and they just kept coming after that. Nothing under 5.5ft and our biggest was 8.8ft. I can honestly say it was the most fun I've ever had on a fishing trip. Thank you again rick. Many more trips in the near future!

Had an amazing time with friends on my first ever Sturgen Fishing trip!!! Frank was awesome! Super comfortable tour guide! Caught some amazing fish! Definitely one of my buckey list items knocked off my list! Cant wait to have Frank take us out again soon!

I have to say that Rick is an awesome guide and we caught over 9 sturgeon. Rick is definitely a sturgeon slayer. We had the best trip and it was definitely an lifetime experience. We caught an 8 feet sturgeon.
